BEFORE / AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM ASSOCIATE - PART-TIME - MULTIPLE LOCATIONS 
Camp Fire Heart of Iowa is accepting resumes for before and after school staff for our before  and after school programs located in Des Moines (Sparks Middle School Club and Wohelo After Care), Prairie City Before and After Care, Prairie City Preschool Wrap- Around. The before/ after school staff is responsible for creating a warm, nurturing, safe and loving environment where social and self-concepts are enhanced, independence encouraged and individuality respected. You may be asked to assist with providing snack, homework help, and attend field trips as well as be willing to lead small group activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
At least 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience working with youth
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Must pass a criminal background check

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
College credit in child development, education, or related field

Associate or Bachelors Degree in child development, education or related field


ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
Ability to implement curriculum to youth
Ability to coordinate and provide a warm, nurturing, safe and loving environment where social and self-concepts are enhanced, independence encouraged and individuality respected
Ability to work with school age youth with maximum of 20 youth per group
Good public relations
Ability to communicate with a diverse population
Ability to lift 40 pounds, repeatedly


WORK HOURS AND LOCATIONS
20-30 hours per week, Monday-Friday, typically 3:00 pm-6:30pm and Wednesdays 1:30pm-6:00pm.

Summer Day Camp staff positions are open in Ames and Des Moines for Summer 2016! Qualified staff members are energized every day to work with campers and share a passion for learning through experience. These positions do require staff to be outdoors throughout the day and to actively engage with all youth throughout the entire programming period. Camp Hantesa Resident Camp Staff (Boone, Iowa)

Overnight Camp Staff positions at Camp Hantesa are available! Camp Hantesa is located in Boone, Iowa and there are various positions available including Camp Counselor, Barn Staff, Day Camp Coordinator, Resident Camp Coordinator, Aquatics Director, Barn Director, Cook Staff, and more. Hantesa Camp Staff do stay onsite throughout the week and are allowed to leave camp on Saturdays with a return on Sunday. Counselors get to enjoy the best parts of summer camp with their campers. Assistant Registar (Camp Fire Service Center Des Moines, Iowa)

This position serves as the support for summer registration to our office manager, and will often times be a primary contact for our families through phone calls, email, and face to face communication.

Essential Qualifications
-Ability to communicate and work with youth and staff team, providing necessary support to both
-Ability to operate a personal computer and Microsoft Office and Excel
-Ability to help from time to time with youth supervision
-Candidates should be detail oriented, organized, responsible, and self-motivated

Specific Responsibilities 
-Accept and record registrations for Camp Fire programs, send confirmations and assist with managing camper information
-Organize reservations and camper information, including summer registration data entry
-Assist with answering phones and emails, and take accurate messages
-Assist with sorting and overseeing the sorting of mail and preparing outgoing mail
-Responsible for reproduction of Camp Fire program materials as assigned
-Be courteous and support office business and the handling of office inquiries 
-Be familiar and follow through with camp policies regarding camper and staff phone calls and messages
-Perform all duties as assigned to the best of your ability, and with a positive attitude 
-Must be available starting May 16 to Aug 12, 2016.
