Equestrian Day Camp Fees

2016 Equestrian Day Camp Schedule

Program Description: Each day, campers will spend the morning at the barn and the afternoon swimming at camp. Campers will learn horse science, English riding, and barn maintenance. Each camper will be assigned a horse and will be instructed based on their riding experience. Beginners to advanced riders are welcome! Riding will depend on day to day weather conditions. Staff reserve the right to remove a rider from the horse if either is in danger. Camp Hantesa provides trained horses and staff for all riding programs. **In order to participate, ALL campers are required to wear long pants, boots, and helmets. Helmets are provided by Camp Hantesa. Boots are available on a limited basis**

Mysteries, Mind Games, and Spies: Create puzzles, solve

riddles, and learn just what it takes to be a spy this week!

Ever Day's a Holiday: Celebrate winter in July, wear your

Halloween costume, go on an egg hunt, and learn about

other holidays from across the globe!

July 11-15

Water Works: Join us this week as we embrace water and all

of the activities that come with it including water balloons,

watercolors, and slip-and-slides!


July 18-22

Around the World: Come learn about cultures from around

the world; play games, learn fun facts, eat food, and more!

July 25-29

Wacky Weird Science: Conduct experiments, explore new

technology, observe the natural world, and learn about how

it all works!

Beach You To It: Join us for a week in the sun as we try out

our resident camp crafts and even take a trip to the lake!

August 8-12

Road to Rio: This week we celebrate the Summer games and

all of the participating countries! We will compete for medals,

learn how to play new sports and invent some of our own!


August 15-19

Best of the Best: Take a trip back through the summer and

revisit all of our favorite camp activities and themes!

Myths & Legends: For our last week of day camp, we take a

trip to some of our favorite fantastical worlds and ancient

Camp Hantesa is located in Boone, Iowa at the north gates of Ledges State Park.  This location provides two day camp opportunities for youth grades 1-12. A morning snack and hot lunch will be provided. Hantesa and Equestrian campers swim each afternoon and also receive swim lessons!

Hantesa Day Camp provides youth with an opportunity to explore the outdoors while participating in the usual camp activities like swimming, games, and crafts.

Equestrian Day Camp offers youth the chance to spend a portion of each day (weather dependent) at our barn learning more about horses and equestrian programming skills.

Hantesa Day Camp Fees

                                       Grades: 1-8

$180/week : Full Price (Des Moines & Ames Drops)
$140/week : Full Price (Boone & Madrid Drops)
$30/night   : Thursday Overnight Fee (optional  add-on)
$20/day      : Pony Ride (optional program add-on)

Financial assistance is available for those families who qualify.  An application can be found under the forms/resources tab.
This form must be submitted to the Camp Fire office with the necessary documentation (found on the application) along with the program registration. Campership assistance is provided on a limited first come, first served basis and is not guaranteed.
