Hantesa Day & Equestrian Day Day Camps

Financial assistance is available for those families who qualify.  An application can be found under the forms/resources tab.
This form must be submitted to the Camp Fire office with the necessary documentation (found on the application) along with the program registration. Campership assistance is provided on a limited first come, first served basis and is not guaranteed.


Hantesa Day Camp Fees

                                       Grades: 1-8

$175/week : Full Price (Des Moines & Ames Drops)
$135/week : Full Price (Boone & Madrid Drops)
$30/night   : Overnight Fee (optional program add-on)
$20/day      :  Pony Ride (optional program add-on)

Camp Hantesa is located in Boone, Iowa at the north gates of Ledges State Park.  This location provides two day camp opportunities for youth grades 1-12. A morning snack and hot lunch will be provided. Hantesa and Equestrian campers swim each afternoon and also receive swim lessons!

Hantesa Day Camp provides youth with an opportunity to explore the outdoors while participating in the usual camp activities like swimming, games, and crafts.

Equestrian Day Camp offers youth the chance to spend a portion of each day (weather dependent) at our barn learning more about horses and equestrian programming skills.

Last Hurrah - Last two days of camp for the season and

campers will run the show! As a final goodbye, the agenda for

the two days will be set by the campers, with the guidance of

the staff of course!




2015 Equestrian Day Camp Schedule

Program Description: Each day, campers will spend the morning at the barn and the afternoon swimming at camp. Campers will learn horse science, English riding, and barn maintenance. Each camper will be assigned a horse and will be instructed based on their riding experience. Beginners to advanced riders are welcome! Riding will depend on day to day weather conditions. Staff reserve the right to remove a rider from the horse if either is in danger. Camp Hantesa provides trained horses and staff for all riding programs. **In order to participate, ALL campers are required to wear long pants, boots, and helmets. Helmets are provided by Camp Hantesa. Boots are available on a limited basis**
