Camp Fire Heart of Iowa receives grant from Variety - the Children’s Charity

Des Moines, IA – Camp Fire Heart of Iowa has received a grant from Variety - the Children’s Charity to fund two HVAC systems for Camp Hantesa’s two year-round cabins.

Camp Fire Heart of Iowa is an inclusive youth development nonprofit organization serving Polk, Dallas, Warren, Jasper, Boone, and Story Counties that connects kids with nature and helps them develop the skills needed for a happy, healthy life now and into the future. We offer a variety of youth and family programs including Community Clubs, Out-of-School Time Programs, Day and Overnight Camps, and Teen Leadership Development. Camp Fire Heart of Iowa serves approximately 1,600+ youth per year.

The Variety grant will be used to make much needed updates to two HVAC systems for Camp Hantesa’s two year-round cabins.

Variety continues their longstanding tradition of funding projects in our community that have a lasting impact on the future of our children. Grant funds used to renovate these two cabins will directly enhance our capacity to serve more youth in all seasons, expand partnerships with local schools and nonprofits, and ensure that our facilities are safe and comfortable for all participants – ensuring we can continue to provide enriching programming to support the needs of youth and families across central Iowa.
