Ignite Your PotentialCamp Fire Heart of Iowa offers teens meaningful opportunities to grow as leaders through hands-on experiences, service to others, and outdoor adventure. With guidance from experienced mentors, teens build confidence, develop real-world skills, and form lasting connections—all while making a difference at camp and beyond.
Summer Teen Leadership
Camp Fire’s Apprentice Programs offer teens valuable leadership experience through hands-on roles at Des Moines Day Camps, Camp Canwita and Camp Hantesa.
Summer Outpost Camp
Outpost Camp is an overnight program designed to help teens develop the skills needed for outdoor pursuits! Two-week programs, for beginners, include trip planning, preparation, and training for the second week, a week-long camping trip!
Out & About
Out & About is a weekend excursion program offering middle and high school LGBTQ+ youth, friends, and allies a safe space to connect with peers over new experiences!
Teen retreats
Join us for a weekend of service, fun, and catching up with camp friends. Enjoy each season’s unique activities and views at Camp Hantesa, build leadership skills, and get outside! Multiple drop-off sites available.
