Tausha Cotner

LaTausha (Tausha) joined Camp Fire in April 2026 as our Camp Director for Camp Hantesa. Tausha, originally from Indiana, has traveled all over to receive their education and experience. Tausha holds a dual master’s degree in art therapy and counseling from Southwestern College in Santa Fe, NM, along with a bachelor’s degree in Painting from Ball State University.

Along with their education, Tausha also brings along a wealth of experience and knowledge in youth program management, residential care, staff development, social emotional skills, and teaching. During their free time, you will find Tausha reading a book, gardening, creating a new crochet project, painting on a canvas, or taking a hike with their dogs.

As the Camp Director for Camp Hantesa, Tausha will oversee all aspects of the overnight and day camp programs, along with other out-of-school time programs that happen on site and at our Ames location, Camp Canwita. They are most excited to get to know the campers, staff, and Camp Hantesa traditions!
