Katie is originally from the Metro-Detroit area of Michigan. She attended Northern Michigan University and earned her bachelor’s degree in Outdoor Recreation Leadership and Management in 2022.

Prior to joining Camp Fire, Katie held many different camp roles with the Girl Scouts. In her free time, she enjoys frolicking in the woods, hosting board game nights, doing arts and crafts and hanging out with her cat, Moony. Katie also loves to give back to her community through volunteer work, especially if it involves being outdoors. Katie is looking forward to making a lasting impact and creating magical moments with Camp Fire Heart of Iowa.

As Assistant Camp Director, Katie assists with the oversight of Camps Hantesa and Canwita with a special emphasis on youth development and program implementation.
